Steps in creating a whiteboard video:

Be it a 3D animation video or a cartoon animation, in order to create a whiteboard video, there are certain steps laid out, following which will facilitate the creations. When we talk about whiteboard animation, there is the traditional whiteboard animation video and a few others like Glass board, Blackboard, Notepad, Stitch board, and so on.

Step #1:

Be it any of the above; the first step is to come up with a script. This is a universal rule that needs to be applied to animated and un-animated videos alike. A good script needs to keep the viewer tied down. The viewer needs to be hooked to the video. Once he is hooked, there must be a “core message” in order not to disappoint him. Finally, these must be transformed into action. Unless and otherwise, they make him perform an action, the script isn’t considered effective. It is very important that the whiteboard video addresses the viewers’ problems and not market the product.

Step #2:

Once you have created a script that is engaging and catchy with a message, it is time to transfer the script into a whiteboard video. It can be a corporate video, 3D animation or cartoon animation video. You have to decide the sequence of the video. This is known as “storyboard”. You could start with rough sketches to finalize a sequence for your whiteboard video.

Step #3:

Now, it’s time to choose an appropriate style for your whiteboard video. Based on your video, be it a 3D animation or cartoon animation, you can choose a style from glass board, stitch board, notebook or blackboard or stick to the conventional style.

Step #4:

The actual process begins here. The strokes, colors, and other such physical properties are chosen here. Various effects are also chosen here. Then the video is animated. This involves adding an image which is the key element. The drawings used in the videos must be continuous and must not break into a new one too often. To this image, you add effects. Make sure your viewers can relate to this image. The timing of each scene needs to be adjusted and add transition effects between scenes. It is very important to add the hand that draws the animation which is one of the important features of the whiteboard animation video.

Step #4:

In this stage, add music or voice-over to the video, otherwise called narration. After addition, review the video once completely.
