How To Know You Chose A Good Realtor

Posted by

Buying or selling a home is a costly process, so you want to make sure that you hire a Realtor to help you get the best value for your money. The problem is that there are so many Realtors out there that it can be difficult to know which one you should pick?

You may be wondering, should I go with a large agency, or hire my cousin’s friend who is a new real estate agent because they will charge you a low price?

Whether the Realtor you hire is new to the industry or not, here are some factors you should consider:

Do they get back to you within 48 hours?

Great Realtors will not let a lead go unnoticed for too long. They will usually contact you within the day to ask about your goals and get the buying or selling process started. The best Realtors won’t let you sit around waiting and thinking about contacting a different Realtor, they will be there to guide you along the process as quickly as possible.

Are they knowledgeable about the neighbourhoods they work in?

You don’t want a Realtor who isn’t knowledgeable about the neighbourhood that they are selling or buying your house in because that means they won’t be able to answer questions you have about the neighbourhood or be able to correctly negotiate with home owners or potential buyers.

Does their behaviour revolve around honesty and integrity?

You want an agent who is explaining everything that they are doing for you. When you first meet them and sit down to talk, they should explain their plan to you and what kinds of challenges may arise during the buying or selling process. They should be in constant communication about any news that you would find relevant.

Follow these 3 simple rules for finding a good Realtor and you’ll be better off in your quest to buy or sell a home.
